Telltales 80

Race week in St. Tropez, Voiles de St. Tropez

While the whole fleet of 87 boats races the 28 miles from Cannes to St. Tropez, Marit drives a Porsche to get there. She enjoyed.

marits arrival in St. Tropez

And St. Tropez saw one of the best days of sailing, see attached picture,

helicopter shot of blasting waves

Unfortunately (and un-understandably) the wind died completely two hours later and we had to motor back to port, taking boats without engine on a tow....... I blame it all on having Glenn aboard.........

We had to tow Jap back into port, they have no engine

But on other days there is NO sailing, see the white caps in the bay...... too bad

the bay under less favourable circumstances

And YES, this was the complete Canadian crew, who came up with a great MOOSE-hat theme for the crew parade through the streets of St. Tropez. We became an instant hit...........

Moose is about to get loose

The crew parade through the streets

But there was sailing as well

rounding a mark, gets crowded

And on the finish line, they all meet again:

seen from the shore it looks like this

And on days when there was little wind, we took along EVERYONE.....

Yes, we take a load

And on sunday Oct 8th it is all over and the season closes officially with the prize giving on the Citadel of St. Tropez.

It is all over

More on this page in the coming days.........about a memorable week in St. Tropez......... as usual
